because next generation is such a blank slate, my favorite thing to do involving it is make shit up. nextgen appearing to be a purple masked individual who has involvement in combat really gets my creative juices flowing, because i love characters like that for some reason (ex: caliber from halley labs. especially if the character is related to hardcore music.) so, in this entry i will be going into my lore that i've made up for this shit. i would also like to state that my lore is typically very thought out to an in-depth degree, thinking about every small detail. the lore is still in early development, and this is just a brief summary of things.
what's the problem?
40 years ago, weird ass creatures spawned out of nowhere. these creatures had shit hearing, shit smell, and 20/20 vision. their skin is kinda gooey, but otherwise they're put together like other normal living beings. their bodies can differ in shape, number of limbs, and eyes. ones without eyes can just spawn eyes out of nowhere though
they're called daywalkers because they're active during the day, which caused the civilian population to go nocturnal.
what about the soldiers?
soldiers are called volunteers who are thus called dayhunters, as a contrast to the daywalkers. why volunteers though?
they aren't really volunteers. they were actually made in a lab and volunteered by DNA donors (who were also involuntarily chosen.) essentially a huge chain of being volunteered by other people. their genetics were modified to increase speed, strength, intelligence and other features that may be useful in combat. when they're 16, because the specific species that they chose for the project quits growing by that age, they have limbs replaced with synthetic parts to further increase their strength. arms are usually replaced on the forearm-hand area, and legs are replaced below the knee.
you may have noticed that i exclusively refer to nextgen as "it". most soldiers tend to be non-binary/have no gender because they have features of both sexes and are treated in a way non-specific to any gender. some soldiers do choose to identify with a binary gender, however most stay the way they've been conditioned to as that's how they're comfortable. most soldiers refer to themselves as "it" or "they" because they're neutral pronouns. came to this conclusion because nextgen has no confirmed gender.
that's all i feel like discussing for now bye
